I used to think this piece from Chopin nick-named “the Minute Waltz” should be performed under one minute. Oh how wrong was I. I think the other name was better – Valse du petit chien.
Chopin’s practice pieces always fascinates me. They are so technically demanding and yet full of emotion. I couldn’t reach the speed I imagined for this piece though, even after years of practicing.
